Treat yourself the best experience.
We find gravel biking as one of the best ways to explore new places and truly experience Slovenia and the Julian Alps. We have designed a self-guided program where you will ride the Juliana Bike trail. We have designed the day rides in a way that you will experience the top spots of Bohinj valley, lake Bled and the Triglav National Park. The tour is centre-based and you will be staying close to the largest lake in Slovenia; lake Bohinj in the heart of the national park. This is a perfect combination for a variety of cycling in pristine nature exploring the natural and cultural attractions of the area. “Best of gravel in Bohinj valley” is one of the best tours we can offer to you so we invite you to come and have fun on your bike.

What we’ll do: Route plan day by day
Day 1 will start with a welcome meeting, where you will get all the final information and materials for your trip. If you choose to rent bikes with us, this will also be the day when we will fit the bike to your needs. We recommend following the day rides as we suggest, but since you will be centre-based, you can choose on your own what ride to do. If you come early we invite you to explore ride to the most visited waterfall in Slovenia; the Savica waterfall. The ride is designed in a way, that you will experience almost the entire Bohinj area, including the upper and lower valley, lake area and Voje valley. This tour will also help you in the upcoming days to get around the area, find your perfect spot for a swim in the Bohinj lake, choose where to take the perfect photo, or discover many traditional restaurants and inns.

The ride will then take you to small village Jamnik from where you get one of the best views on the Gorenjska region, Kamnik-Savinja Alps and the Karavanke mountain group. A beautiful descent will bring you to Kropa – the home of ironworks and nails. You can visit the Iron forging museum in the village or take a stop for coffee and lunch. On this day we suggest that you put your bike on the train and go for a ride in the world-famous Soča valley. Just a short train ride will bring you to Most na Soci where you will start your biking towards Tolmin town. Close by is a famous Tolminka river gorge and we strongly advise you to visit it. It will take you approx. 1h walking to explore the gorge so make sure your footwear will be right. After the gorge visit, you will ride through picturesque villages all the way to Kobarid town. There you can visit one of the most known WW1 museums, hike to Kozjek waterfall and have a break in the town centre. If you like good food Kobarid is the place to be in Slovenia. Close by is Hisa Franko – the 2 star Michelin restaurant so you can treat yourself on the last bike ride with an amazing meal. Our food would be a traditional shepherds dish from the valley called “Frika”.
